After the hurricane - writing response

AFTER THE HURRICANE – Winslow Homer, 1899

The boat ripped apart from side to side, ramming into the solid sand.
       The sky’s deep, dark world has locked up the sun in its dull prison, poisoning all its rays.
The water slowly calms down from Sandy’s wreck; leaving the young explorer stone cold from being pounded into the rock hard sand. An innocent man ruined.
All he wanted was to check out a new island but Sandy took everything and chucked it in the bin, her furious waves broke a strong man
