1. It is a contact sport and physical contact happens between chairs.
2. Wheelchair rugby is played indoors on a hardwood court.
3. It was developed in Canada in 1977.
4. The sport's original name was Murder Ball.
5. It has little in common with Rugby Football except the name.
I enjoy knowing that disadvantaged people can do something like us. :)
It certainly is good to know that people in wheelchairs also have options for playing sport and being active - I bet they love having the chance to represent NZ and it is just a shame that they don't get as much recognition as the able-bodied sportspeople.
